Rujunko is an artist new to the Washington, D.C. art scene. She lived
in Hawaii for ten years and built an island following of her work.
She has a Masters in Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering, which
has played a major influence in developing her photographic eye. For
example, in the "Blueprint" series, she incorporates DNA sequences
that are specific to her plant subjects. In Hawaii, she has shown her
work in many museums and galleries and has won numerous awards in the
state's top juried shows. The exhibition at Mid City Caffe will be an
introduction of her work in Washington, D.C. Additionally, LongView
Gallery has recently added her to their list of artists to represent.

The selected works will be from the "Botanical Hawaii", "Ornament of
Species" and "Blueprint" series, and attached is an example of work
from each.
